TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

A Technical Project Manager coordinates workflows and projects for a variety of clients, vendor partners and internal stakeholders. This will involve understanding new software requirements, triaging and troubleshooting issues that arise and then tracking those assignments (among other tasks). This work will be performed for multiple clients. However, primary focus will be on long-term management of one of our most important clients – a Fortune 10 software company – leveraging a proprietary SaaS learning platform.

You will be expected to play a key role by interfacing directly with clients and the clients’ other vendors, discussing complex software and eLearning scenarios and working with Software Engineers to define and confirm fixes. This work may involve a third-party Learning Management System (LMS) platform software stack, the overall UI, or individual eLearning content modules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects move along according to schedule, on-time and on-budget
  • Alert stakeholders and internal team of project risks, delays and blockers
  • Act as an escalation point for high-visibility issues within clients and partners
  • Triage, reproduce, document, and suggest resolutions for software issues discovered in the field
  • Advise customer administrators on complex system functionality and best practices
  • Bring your detailed knowledge of systems and techniques into relevant feature discussions
  • Improve our support and project management tools and processes to make them quicker and more deterministic
  • Act as the senior PMO team member to coach and mentor teammates and new Project Managers
  • Foster amazing communication and collaboration with vendors and our customers

Requirements

  • 3+ years of direct technical project management, software technical support experience or similar
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or corporate eLearning, strongly preferred
  • Amazing communication and organization skills for internal and external audiences
  • Knowledge of SaaS-based systems and common web technologies
  • Openness to working on new things and a level of comfort with occasional ambiguity
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and solutions orientation
  • Understanding of corporate learning and training, including SCORM and xAPI is a plus
  • Technical skills such as creating and running scripts, executing database queries, etc., preferred
  • Experience with WordPress, preferred
